OPCC Participates in Global Privacy Assessment of the “Internet of Things”

The Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPCC) has released a report detailing the results of its participation in a global “privacy sweep” in the spring of 2016 that examined the privacy impacts of hundreds of e-connected devices (e.g., fitness trackers, smart watches, etc.) that form part of the so-called “Internet of Things”.  The OPCC was joined in the review by more than twenty other privacy authorities around the world.
